I was selected as the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Academic Fellow for Fall 2021, focusing on Civic Engagement. I was provided an opportunity to travel to the United States for 3 weeks in Atlanta, Georgia, to explore American history, especially the human rights movement.
Being in the United States, I had chance to make connections with American people and fellows from Southeast Asia, as well as get to know many educational places in the US. Most importantly, it is about American culture, which is so interesting for me as an international relations student to expand my knowledge and be able to see the world even bigger.
Moreover, I had the opportunity to strengthen my leadership skills through team-building activities and exchange ideas/ discussions with other fellows during the program.
The YSEALI program made my dream come true, and I have no doubt that it was my greatest journey and the most amazing self-development program ever.
